Kidney Disease in Younger Population

Kidney is a silent worker of body, despite functioning 24/7 like heart and lungs, kidney-health is often less talked about.

lgA Nephropathy is among the most common form of glomerular diseases, affecting all age groups specially in second and third decade of life. We often over look subtle signs and symptoms our body signals, headache is very common among them which is often ignored! Microhematuria, subnephrotic proteinuria and hypertension are other common presentations of lgA Nephropathy.

Renal biopsy is a diagnostic essential for lgA Nephropathy, however all of us should get our blood pressure regularly checked and urine routine examination done at least every six months!!

If early diagnosis is made, damage to kidney can be controlled by proper medical management, otherwise patient often presents with End stage Renal disease (ESRD) and Renal replacement therapy (Dialysis/Kidney Transplant) is advised.

Those interested in Nephrology and Nephropathology can join us for an interactive Clinico pathological discussion on lgA Nephropathy!!
